Karin Hepburn was born in Glasgow. She attended Glasgow School of Art then University of Strathclyde to complete her PGCE Teaching certificate in Secondary Education (Art & Design). Karin has taught Art & Design for over 30 years, mainly in Scotland.
Her inspiration is drawn from memories of nostalgia, seascapes and large Scottish skies. She is slowly merging both her skies and previous iconic landmarks. Karin’s love of travel is also prominent in her work. Her affordable print collection is now in private collections worldwide.
In October 2022 Karin Hepburn launched her own Gallery in Newton Mearns, Glasgow. Studio Two Six One is a new and vibrant creative space, a communal hub for both professional and amateur artists living and working in Scotland. In addition to creative workshops it offers locally sourced retail gifts.
Karin resigned from her teaching career in June 2023 to focus on her Gallery and develop her own work as a mid career artist.
Karin Hepburn had her first solo show in November 2022 at the Harbour Arts Centre, Irvine. This collection of work was mainly produced as a result of Lockdown. Karin is a regular Exhibitor at the Pittenween Arts Festival, Fife, Scotland.
