Lisa Arnott is a graduate of ECA with a Master of Fine Arts in Jewellery Design from Sheffield Hallam University. Lisa has exhibited extensively throughout Scotland, the UK and internationally including Canada, Hong Kong Design Centre and was selected for the Buda Contemporary Jewellery award Melbourne Australia.
In 2024 she was nominated for the Scottish Landscape Awards for her enamelled vessels. Drawing on her background in fine art Lisa uses a limited palette range of industrial enamels. This allows her to be more focused on the mark-making process. Using a variety of handmade drawing tools, she begins by layering, marking and through various temperatures begin to burn the enamels which enables her to explore and manipulate the enamel allowing her to be both spontaneous and at the same time, she can break up the composition, burning out and rubbing back areas of textures allowing her to push the materials to another level of visual interest.
Through these processes, she is creating unique and sensitive surfaces which reflect the memory of place, a sense of what has been left by nature in the landscape creating wearable objects which are evocative of a sense of place.
