SEA DRIFT POTTERY

Pauline Beautyman is a potter based near Dunoon, Argyll. The earthy tones of her surrounding hills and shores alongside the lighter shades of the ever-changing clouds can be seen as her inspiration.

A small production potter for many years, Pauline’s work has evolved to include hand-built forms in dark moody clays and tall thrown bottle forms with rock like textures. Sand from the loch beside her studio and locally found clay are both used to add decoration to her work often resulting in exciting and unpredictable surfaces. Her work has been previously shown in the East Neuk through local galleries, but this is her first year at the Art Festival.
